The Other White Meat...

Fisher and I bought two pork loins and a pack of boneless pork chops at Sam's. The plan was to have the pork chops during the week and the pork loin (made like a roast) over the weekend.

We thawed out the pork chops for days in the fridge, and they would just not thaw! I even tried leaving them out on the counter to soften, and then replacing them in the fridge so they would not go bad. They kept re-freezing! I guess our fridge is just too cold! Discovered this today after I put the chops back in last night, and they were pretty thawed!

So, I decided to cook all the pork chops and one of the pork loins today! LOL I was afraid the meat would go bad, so we're going to be eating a lot of the other white meat this week! We have a slow-cooked pork loin with my first attempt at homemade gravy. Not sure how it will taste! And we have cook-in-the-seasoning-bag pork chops and some pecan-crusted pork chops!

I used the mini-food processor I got for Christmas to chop up the pecans! Love it! I like it so much that I chopped up too many pecans that had to be thrown out because raw meat had touched them!

We are in need of a grill! I think we'll just have to get one sometime this summer. Fisher liked the pork loin meat, and the gravy needed salt...even though I thought I put a ton of salt in it!

Yeah, I would love to be able to have a grill - grilled food just tastes so much better! :)
