Arkansas...

While visiting my parents, we spent some time sightseeing in the area where they live. Of course, I've seen this area a bunch of different times, but it was really interesting to see several new things.

This is the Black River Overlook in Pocahontas, it was the site of a Civil War camp, or something like that.

This is the ultimate love/hate relationship (as one of the workers mentioned). This was on exhibit at the Crowley's Ridge Nature Center. This little gator did not seem happy to have the cute little turtle on his back. Shortly after this picture was taken, the theatre let out from the movie showing and the turtle jumped into the water (probably because of all the noise and people that were coming his way). The alligator started to breathe really heavily. He was not in a good mood. We glared at each other. There were also fish and other turtles in the tank with these two.

At the Nature Center, they have an "Eagle's Nest" where you can see out into the woods, and they also have really cool puppets. I'm biting my dad with a shark and he's playing with a squirrel.

This is an old Southwest plane (pretty obvious, even though they try to cover it up slightly) that was turned into a restaurant called the Parachute Inn in Walnut Ridge. You can sit in the airline seats at tables, and the website says you can store your coats/purses, etc. in the overhead bins. I wonder if the barf bags are still in the seats if the food is bad?
