Origin of the Name...

I have a video that explains how the mixer got it's name, but it must be too large because Blogger won't let me load it!

Several names ran through my head Blanca, Whitey, Opal and some others I can't remember. I felt he needed a name, since I've heard of other mixers having names!

While I was assembling him last night, Aardi came into my head because he's an Artisan mixer, with Aardi being short for Artisan. What sealed the deal, is that Aardi is also the name of a little aardvark character that my dad created when I was a kid! Aardi, the character, is basically my dad's middle finger curled in like an aardvark trunk, and he would tell funny stories that involved Aardi's adventures while illustrating with the Aardi character. Kind of silly, but really cute and I love it! So, when Aardi crossed my mind, I asked my dad how we would spell the aardvark's name, and this is what we decided on! :-)
