Today was the Kentucky Derby and I made two dishes that are popular at the Derby. We didn't watch the race, but we had Hot Browns (bread, tomaotes (me), turkey, bacon bits and cheese sauce) and alcohol-free Mint Juleps! Very tasty, and a fun meal!
The mint juleps were really fun to make because I used mint that is growing in our backyard! I can't take credit for planting it, but I am helping it stay alive! It's really cool and smells devine! Also growing in our yard, again, not planted by me, is rosemary! I picked some of it and put it in a vase for decoration.
I also learned to use the macro feature on my camera which I've read about on other blogs. It really helps the close ups come out clearer and crisper, and it seems like the shutter closes faster.
